A 21st Century Lights On Afterschool Program has Talent
Eunice Elementary held a “21st Century Got Talent” Lights on Afterschool Program Wednesday, Oct. 22 outdoors on campus with parents and family members attending.
A program, presented by the students, was filled with their own creative songs, art work, drawings, readings, poems, and talents.
The afterschool program included teachers LaRhonda Simpson, Michelle Stelly, Andre O’Brien, Katie Fontenot and Rachael Brignac with Principal Mary Dupre.
Simpson added, “This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children.
“The program helps students meet state and local standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math, offers a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs, and other literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.”
