63 years later...dreams can come true
Last October, for Eunice High Homecoming, a woman asked Principal Mitch Fontenot if she could possibly ride in the high school’s parade.
She explained that years ago she missed her homecoming parade ride as she was Yambilee Princess in 1952. Susan Marie Tarver Copelin Wilson did indeed ride in the Eunice High parade last year.
Fontenot received a letter in the mail the week of May 23 from Wilson. Fontenot forwarded the letter to The Eunice News. The handwritten letter, said, “Dear Eunice High School, In 1952 I was chosen to represent Eunice School in the Yam Parade. My grandfather died and I wanted to be with my precious Dad. So I missed my parade. Sixty-three years later I had my prayer and dreams come true. I guess you would call that “Waiting on the Lord”.
“Never give up on your dreams! Thank you for letting me fulfill my desire of the Heart. Bless you, Susan Tarver Copelin Wilson”
