ABC hosts two-day Women's Conference

Acadian Baptist Center near Richard hosted a Women’s Conference Jan. 23 and Jan. 24. Guest speaker Kathy Nelson of Ruston, left picture, taught from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 about the need for Christian friends to be helpers, encouragers, and defenders of each other. Nelson has a BA in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University and has served in Collegiate Ministry for the past 25 years. Pictured right are Will Powell, a student at LA Tech, and Katy James, Student Minister at First Baptist Church, Crowley, and a Louisiana Tech graduate. They led praise and worship during the conference. Several other women led break-out sessions that explored subjects such as prayer, anger, living with purpose, as well as other topics of interest to women. Eighty-five women attended the conference.
