Central Middle fifth-graders send cards and letters to Troops

Central Middle students' crafted cards and letters sent to Troops

Currently, there are approximately 200,000 military personnel currently deployed overseas. Realizing that they are away from their families and friends for the holidays, Central Middle School students wanted to do something special in the spirit of the holiday season. Under the supervision of Janel Simien, teacher at the middle school, all fifth-graders demonstrated their sincere gratitude to our U. S. troops. To show appreciation, each student composed a letter or designed a greeting card thanking our troops for their service, and wishing them a joyful holiday season. Pictured, at left, are a handful of fifth-graders who composed letters and greeting cards, and at right, are a handful of letters and cards mailed to the troops.
