Central Middle's Cafeteria wins state

Cheryl Stevens, cafeteria manager at Central Middle School, attended the 63rd annual conference for the School Nutrition Association of Louisiana held June 14 in Shreveport. At the conference, Stevens was presented an award on behalf of herself and Central’s cafeteria staff. Central’s cafeteria placed third at the state level in showcasing their efforts combined with those of Central Middle’s students, parents, and school personnel in bringing awareness to the forefront. During National School Lunch week, several activities were held on the campus where students and parents were united to spend quality time partaking in school meals. These activities were documented and archived by Stevens as she worked with the school’s principal in the compilation of a portfolio for entry into the state competition. (Submitted Photo)
