Earth Mama performs at St. Edmund Catholic School

Earth Mama, Joyce Rouse, performs one of her environmental songs with sixth-grader Hunter Brown during a St. Edmund Elementary assembly Tuesday morning.

Earth Mama, Joyce Rouse of Independence, Va., made special appearances at St. Edmund School last week, entertaining elementary and high school students through songs of messages about keeping our earth and environment clean.
Earth Mama, an environmental entertainer and motivational speaker, sang songs teaching students to become more aware and conscientious of conserving and preserving of our land, water and environment. She also encouraged recycling.
She included students to participate and “act-out” with her in one particular environmental song “Looking for New Alternatives...Olay!”
Earth Mama encouraged students to use recycable and re-usable products - showing off a large cloth shopping bag, and a recycable and reusable plastic soda six-pack top for sodas.
Students listened as Earth Mama encouraged less water usage. “Shorter showers...don’t be wasteful. Don’t run your water the entire time while brushing your teeth.”
Students sang along with Earth Mama, another song, “Making Compost...let it Rot”
Earth Mama also made an additional appearance at the Liberty Theater for the general public on Wednesday evening.
