Eunice High School welcomes newest teachers, coaches on campus

Principal Mitch Fontenot at Eunice High School welcomes new teachers on campus.

Dale Guillory
Coach Guillory returns to Eunice High School this year. His coaching experience includes a ULL Strength Coach Internship in 1999, Eunice High Volunteer Strength Coach in 2000 and a LSU Strength Coach Internship in 2001.
He worked at Carencro High in 2002-2004 where he taught science and Physical educaiton and coached football, track and weightlifting. Guillory worked at Eunice High from 2005-2013 where he taught Physical education and science and coached football and track. Guillory taught at Pine Prairie High in 2014 where he taught health, Physical education, science, and ACT prep while coaching football and track
Guillory returns to Eunice High, teaching ACT prep and math essentials and serving as assistant football coach with the defensive backs as well as head boy’s track coach.

Tre’ Brown
Brown comes to Eunice High with many years of teaching experience. He served four years as head baseball/assistant football coach and taught AP environmental science, physical science, earth science, life science and Physical education at Mamou High. He served five years as head baseball/assistant football coach and taught American history, world history, world geography, environmental science and Physical education at St. Edmund High School. Brown served four years as head softball/wrestling coach and assistant baseball coach and taught biology, physical science, environmental science and Physical education at Newnan High School in Newnan, Georgia.
Brown earned a masters of arts in teaching from University of Louisiana at Monroe as well as a bachelor’s of science in exercise science from Georgia Southwestern State University.
He is married to Lauren Brown and has a daughter, Ava Grace, and a son, Beau.
He is presently teaching environmental and earth science at Eunice High and serves as the head football coach at Eunice Jr. High and assistant baseball coach at Eunice High.

Leah Leblanc
Leah Leblanc is the newest band teacher on campus. She teaches ninth-through twelfth-grade band students.

Jade Fontenot
Jade Fontenot is the newest world geography teacher at Eunice High School. Fontenot student taught at Eunice High in 2013. She said, “I immediately fell in love with the school.”
After graduating from McNeese State University in social studies education, Fontenot took a position at Northwest High School near Opelousas. At Northwest she taught world geography and American history.

K. K. Devillier
Randi Kaye DeVillier is the newest eleventh-grade geometry teacher on campus. Devillier is a 2010 graduate of Eunice High School, and the daughter of Kim and Blaine DeVillier of Eunice. Devillier graduated from Louisiana State University Eunice in 2012 and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2014. She is currently working online towards her masters degree program through Louisiana State University Shreveport. Her interests include shopping, watching any LSU sport, traveling and running. In the past two summers, Devillier joined a group of about 80 people on a mission trip, and served as a volunteer to work at schools, churches, and homes in Guatemala.

Carla Lafleur
Lafleur is a new business teacher at Eunice High. Lafleur is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte where she resides. She received her business education degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, and a master’s degree in supervision and administration from LSU.
Lafleur added, “I also manages my own business which will enable me to give students what the business world expects. I am so excited to begin the 2015-2016 year teaching the students at Eunice High School.”

Nina Fontenot
Nina Fontenot is the newest business teacher at Eunice High.
Fontenot graduated from McNeese State University with a degree in business education, and has been an educator for the past 27 years. She taught three years at high school level and 24 years in the Technical College system now known as South Louisiana Community College.

Coach Wayne Fontenot
Wayne Fontenot is beginning his first year as the head women’s basketball coach and biology teacher at Eunice High School. He is a graduate of Eunice High and the University of Louisiana Lafayette where he earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and biology education.  
Fontenot has 18 years of experience coaching multiple sports at the high school level. He has coached at Eunice High School, Northwest High School, Church Point High School and most recently Lafayette High School. During this time he served as coach, biology teacher, health teacher, and physical education teacher. He had spent the past 12 years working as a teacher and coach at Lafayette High School. 
In addition to his duties as a head coach, Fontenot will also serve as an assistant in woman’s volleyball and baseball, as well as teach various levels of biology. Fontenot said, “I am very excited to play a vital role in the development of young men and women to become future leaders in the community. I believe that academics and athletics can become valuable teaching tools used to help student athletes achieve their future goals towards life”
Fontenot is married to his wife Candace, and they have two children, Grant, 13, and Carson, 9.
