Eunice Branch NAUW honors Women in the Community

Members of the Eunice Branch National Association of University Women (NAUW) recently held their annual Women In History program and honored several local women in the community.
Honorees included Lakesha Miller, principal at Eunice Junior High School, Candace Fontenot, assistant principal at Eunice High School, Miceala Simpson 2014 Single Parent of the Year; Chastity Wilson, principal at Highland Elementary, Laura Lombas, principal of Glendale Elementary, Attorney Josie G. Frank, president of St. Landry School Board, and Equilla W. Brannon Eunice Branch 2014 Woman of the Year.
The theme of the afternoon event was “Celebrating Women of Character, Courage and Commitment,” which was empahasized throught the program. Emcee for the afternoon was Chiquita M. Thomas, first vice president of NAUW
Entertainment was rendered by Keristian Edwards through dance and monolog presentations.
Other members on the program included Meriva P. Fontenot, Lelia B. Adams, Patricia D. Harrison, Carolyn Baldwin, Maryland D. Graham, Patricia Harris, Michelle Allison and Ardessie C. Francois, chairperson of the program.
Denise W. Antoine serves as president of the Eunice Branch NAUW.
