Fan Favorite and Mirror Ball winners named at Dancing With the Stars-BlueJay style

The dancing team of Fr. Dustin Dought and Michelle LeJeune won as Fan Favorite and winning the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy as overall winner was the team of Beth Soileau and Ed Manuel at the first annual St. Edmund Catholic School “Dancing with the Stars Blue Jay Style” Gala held Wednesday evening at LSUE Acadian Center.
The first annual fund-raiser event raised $104,000 for St. Edmund School.
Funds were raised by public buying votes for their favorite dancing couple. Votes were cast online as well as at the event. Couple receiving the most votes earned the winning titles. Votes were at $1 each.
The nine competing couples included Michelle Mayeux LeJeune and Father Dustin Dought, Patricia Manuel and Lindsey J. “Red” Aucoin, Melany Landreneau Vidrine and John Fruge, Aimee McManus Miller and Phillip Devillier, Shayne Young and James “Jr.” Bergeron, Mary Miller and Michael Driggs
Judge Lynette Feucht and Douglas Summerlin, Sharon Fontenot and Dr. A.C. Miller, and Beth Soileau and Ed Manuel.
Choreographers were Oliva Dodd, Michelle Reed LeFleur, Charrise Denton, Lainey Rae Hollier, Haley Ortego and Mary Miller.
Serving as emcees for the evening were Beth Soileau, Dr. Jamie Thompson and Tad Richard.
The successful fundraiser for St. Edmund School will become an annual event. Thompson added, “This event was a huge success...thank you St. Edmund supporters.”
The event was hosted by the St. Edmund Advisory Council.
