Highland Elementary PBIS "kick-off" in style

Highland Elementary recently kicked off its “Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS)” program in style this year.
A pep rally was held to both entertain and inspire students to become active and positive role models on their campus.
Eunice High School cheerleaders served as ambassadors of the program to get students fired up and show their school spirit. A grade level spirit competition was held with second-grade students awarded the Highland Elementary Spirit stick.
PBIS is a federal initiative which motives students to always put forth their best effort. The program serves to reward kids who strive to do their best on campus. Rewards include Bobcat Bucks which provide students the opportunity to earn a variety of privileges and benefits.
Highland Elementary’s PBIS committee has been planning various student centered activities to motivate students.
The faculty has made donations to develop a student-centered store. Fridays has been initiated for prize drawings, and future plans for movie and fun days are presently in the works.
