Homemade rations demonstration at Lafitte

As part of the Summer Cultural Camp held at the Jean Lafitte Center a Make Your Own Rations demonstration, presented by Johnny Reed of Eunice, was given to the group of young campers Tuesday morning. Reed was part of the program of “Louisiana soldiers in Civil War make your own Rations.” Reed, left, showed how to make homemade fruit roll ups, tooth powder, and beans and rice.
