International Day celebrated at St. Edmund Elementary
St. Edmund Elementary sixth-graders celebrated International Day Friday as part of a year-end Social Studies project.
Their projects were displayed at the Jeanmard Center for judging on appearance, creativity, knowledge and more. Students were required as a grade to choose a country in the world, write a book report, create a visual project model, dress in native attire of chosen country, and prepare a native dish.
Countries represented included: Greece, England, Costa Rica, Mexico, Madagascar, India, Italy, China, Australia, Germany, The Netherlands and Brazil
Sixth grade teachers are Dayna Landry and Julie Fontenot.
Representing Greece were Madison Eckholdt, Ariana Manuel and Kate Fruge.
Mark Fruge, Trae Manuel and Kaleb George represented England.
Costa Rica was represented by Karleigh Soileau, Elizabeth McGee and Kennedy Ardoin.
Connor Diaz, Austin Stanford and Tyler Johnson represented Mexico.
Madagascar was represented by Garrett Dubois, Kyle Miller and Mason Sattler.
Alesis Laughlin, Macie Berzas and Caroline Feucht showed off their India project.
Italy was represented by Leo Richard, William Driggs and Ian Dupre.
Robert Broussard, Drayson Laughlin and Nathan Andrepont represented China.
Australia was represented by Philippe Soileau, Justin Landry and Ferdie DeRouen.
Nicholas Bertrand, Luke Vidrine an Trenton Marcantel represented Germany.
The Netherlands was represented by Amelia Moreau, Cassie Manuel and Greta Miller.
Susannah Summerlin, Kailey Miller and Cora Berzas represented Brazil.
