LSU Eunice offers ServSafe Course

EUNICE – A ServSafe food safety certification course will be offered April 25 on the LSU Eunice campus.
The ServSafe program provides food safety training, exams, and educational materials to foodservice managers. Students can earn the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute Conference for Food Protection.
The program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research, and years of food sanitation training experience. Managers learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety.
All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by foodservice industry experts
At the end of the class, LSU Eunice will administer the ServSafe certification exam. Students who earn a qualifying score on the exam will receive a ServSafe food safety certificate issued by the National Restaurant Association.
This certificate is recognized by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals for food service workers’ compliance with Act 506 of the 2001 Louisiana Legislature. This state law requires, at least, one employee in all food service establishments in Louisiana to hold a state food safety certificate.
The one-day class will run from 8 a.m. to about 5 p.m., including the examination.
A $160 registration fee covers the cost of the textbook and the examination. There is a $3.82 convenience fee for registering and paying online.
To register for the course visit the LSU Eunice Continuing Education website at www.lsue.edu/continuinged and follow the Courses link.
