Manuel sisters donate to "Locks of Love"

MacKenzie B. Manuel, left, 9-year- old, and her older sister Ariana R. Manuel, 11-year-old, great-granddaughters of Louis and Janet McGee of Eunice, recently had the opportunity and pleasure to donate their locks of hair to “Locks Of Love” as they both had a haircut at Patrick’s Pro Cuts. Ariana had 10 inches of hair cut; and MacKenzie had 8 inches cut. The Manuels attend school at St. Edmund Elementary. Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children 18 years and younger suffering from long-term medical hair loss. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses helps to restore self-esteem and confidence, thus, enabling them to face the world and their peers. (Photo Submitted)
