Named Best Supporting Actor
Travis Fontenot won the Best Supporting Actor as Trip Wyeth in Eunice Players’ Theatres’ “Other Desert Cities,” during the annual Irving Awards. Fontenot began working with Eunice Players’ Theatre in 2012, in “Camelot”. He has also appeared on the Opelousas Little Theatre stage in “Macbeth”, “Jekyll & Hyde”, “The Lion in Winter”, “Romeo and Juliet”, and “God’s Favorite”. Fontenot resides in Ville Platte, where he is a founding member and Artistic Director of Troupe d’Evangeline, a performing arts troupe. They have performed “Faster Than the Eye Can See”, “Polter Heist”, and “Who?”. He is also a board member of Opelousas Little Theatre. By day, Fontenot is the Director of Theatre at Evangeline Parish School Board, and he teaches theatre classes in Pine Prairie. (Information and photo submitted)
