Preparations for 44th Annual Irving Awards

The Eunice Players’ Theatre Board of Directors are preparing for their 44th Annual Irving Awards which honors all participants of the 2013 season. The awards ceremony will be held at the Northwest Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. This year the theme is “Krewe de Irvings” and Oliva Dodd’s Studio of Dance will provide entertainment with the traditional Irving dancers who will open the awards with the song “Applause”. The three shows nominated for the 2013 season include: “The Glass Mendacity”, directed by Jody L. Powell; “Tuesdays With Morrie”, directed by Liz Bryan and Ching Wasmuth; and, “The 39 Steps”, directed by Debi L. Crawford. The summer productions, “Always...Patsy Cline” and “The Trial of Goldilocks” will also be recognized for their achievements. This award ceremony is by invitation only and all participants of these shows plus season ticket holders are invited to attend. Awards are voted on by the Eunice Players’ Theater season ticket holders and tallied by Vige, Tujague and Noel, CPA, and invitations and ballots are expected to be delivered within the week. Deadline for returning the ballots is Friday, Feb. 14.
