St. Edmund holds Seventh-and Eighth-Grade Awards ceremony
St. Edmund held its annual Seventh-and Eighth-grade Awards ceremony Friday morning inside the school’s gymnasium.
Many students were recognized and awarded for their academics achievements including Honor Roll, Principals’ Honor Roll, Stanford 10 Achievement Test highest achievers; and other awards included Accelerated Reader achievers, Class Officers, Sports participants, Woodman of the World, The Eunice News Language Arts Award, Claire Francois Montz Award, and Young Christian Awards.
The Woodman of the World Award, which is given to a seventh-grade student with the highest grade point average in American History. Abby Miller was the recipient.
Gabby Fontenot was presented the Eunice News Language Arts Award.
The Claire Francois Montz Awards is an award chosen by the student’s teacher, not only for a high grade point average, but also for the student’s interest in the subject, their enthusiasm and willingness to go beyond and above measure. This years’ recipients include: English-Olivia McDaniel, Science-Blaire Allain, Math-Seth Venable, and Religion-Olivia McDaniel.
The Young Christian Award went to Noah Daigle, seventh-grader; and Blaire Allain, eighth-grader.
Students scoring 90 percent or above on the Stanford Achievement Test were recognized and honored. These recipients were: Jack Ardoin, Christopher Berzas, Caleb Fontenot, and Avery McGee.
