'What's your Trash...is Her Treasure'

What’s your trash or junk is her treasure, as Trish Ransom of Grand Coteau was the guest at the library. Ransom provided a workshop -Debris Art for adults July 21 and July 23. On Tuesday, Ransom, a 10-year professional artist, gave Part 1 of the workshop, the mixing of paints, making designs with sponge brushes, and foam brushes, and applying it on a wooden background. At Thursday’s Part 2 workshop, participants finished their artwork - a fish, using re-purpose materials such as bottlecaps, scraps of tin, buttons, soda cans, plastic cups, metal lids, beads, and other salvaged materials. They worked with scissors, hammers, wire cutters, pliers, and screw drivers. Participants included Roslyn Burney, Connie Babineaux and Janice Babineaux. (Photos by Myra Miller)
