Bergeron seeking Ward 3 council re-election

James “Jr.” Bergeron has announced his candidacy for re-election as Ward 3 Eunice City Council member in the Nov. 4 primary election.
Bergeron has lived in Eunice for the past 25 years.
His parents are Robert and Edith Bergeron of Sulphur.
He is a 1982 graduate of Sulphur High School and attended LSU Eunice.
Bergeron is married to the former Nicole Deshotel, daughter of J.R. and Dean Deshotel of Eunice.
They have three children, Ashley Gould and Skye and Cole Bergeron, and two grandchildren, Hadley and Wasey.
Bergeron is employed by Doerle Food Service as a multi-segment sale manager and his wife is owner of Deshotel’s Dress Shop of Eunice.
Bergeron is a parishioner and usher of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and is a former member of the St. Edmund’s School Board.
He is a past board member of the Eunice Country Club and a former committee member for Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation and Delta Waterfowl.
He is a former member of the board of the Louisiana Restaurant Association andwas the association’s 2002 Associate Member of the Year.
Bergeron has served on the Eunice Economic Development Board and is a former board member of the Eunice Community Health Clinic.
He has in the past served as a volunteer coach in the Eunice Recreation Program and in the St. Ed’s Elementary Athletic Program.
Bergeron is a Bengal Athletic Commission and member of the Joe Nagata Jamboree Committee.
