Class offered for election commissioner

Charles Jagneaux, St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court has given public notice of a certification class for any registered voter that would like to become an election commissioner.
In order to be certified:
1. Must be a qualified voter in the ward in which he/she is to serve and also must not need assistance to vote.
2. Must not be a candidate in the election at which he/she is to serve.
3. Must not have been convicted of any election offense as defined in Chapter 10 of the Louisiana Election code.
The classes will be as follows:
Aug. 3 at Eunice City Hall chamber room at 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in Eunice.
Aug. 4 at 4:30 p.m.until 7 p.m. at the old city market building on the corner of the St. Landry Parish courthouse square.
