Clean-up urged before annual litter count

The survey leading to third Keep Eunice Louisiana Beautiful’s community litter index will be conducted in the city Monday, Sept. 29 and Tuesday, Sept. 30.
KEB Director Donna Baltakis urges residents and businesses to clean up their properties in preparation for the survey.
A team of trained observers will travel the city on both days, eyeballing 50 selected sites, east to west, north to south.
Each site will get a score of 1, the most pristine, to 4, the most reprehensible.
Data from the observers, some of whom got training last week and some of whom are repeat participants, will be analyzed and included in a statistical report by Baltakis.
