District 41 candidates report campaign finances
The three candidates in the District 41 state representative’s election report nearly $109,000 in funding and spending nearly $72,000 of that money as of the Sept. 14 reporting date.
The District 41 House of Representative’s seat is open due to the retirement of Rep. Mickey Guillory, who was forced to relinquish his seat after three terms.
The candidates in the Oct. 24 primary election are Phillip Devillier, Greg Fruge and Germaine Simpson.
The reporting period was from Jan. 1 to Sept. 14.
Devillier led the money race in the district with total contributions of $75,771.26. Fruge followed with $24,342.50. Simpson reported $8,502.60, but $8,002.60 was a personal loan to her campaign.
Devillier reported expenditures of $48,936.21 and funds on hand of $25,633.79.
Fruge reported expenditures of $$14,227.75 with $8,019.83 on hand.
Simpson reported expenditures of $8,502.60, which was all of her available money.

Simpson major expenditure was a total of $7,000 to Bourque Signs.
