Early voting for March 5 election begins Feb. 20

Eunice voters face some key dates for the March 5 election, which will include a special election for mayor and Ward 4 alderman in Eunice as well as the presidential preference primary.
The presidential primary is closed. Only voters registered as Democrat or Republican will be able to vote in the primary.
If you are registered as No party, None, Other party, Independent, Green, Reform or Libertarian you not be eligible to vote in the presidential primary on March 5.
Voters may verify their current information by visiting the website geauxvote.com, or call a registrar of voters office. In St. Landry Parish, the registrar’s office number is 337-948-0572. In Acadia Parish, the registrar’s number is 337-788-8841.
The last day to register to vote or change political party was Wednesday.
The last day to request an absentee mail ballot is March 1. The last day for the registrar to receive a mailed ballot is March 4.
Early voting is scheduled Feb. 20, and Feb. 22 to Feb. 27.
Early voting hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Offices are closed Sunday.
The St. Landry Parish Registrar of Voters office is St. Landry Parish Courthouse, 118 S. Court St., Suite 114, Opelousas.
The Acadia Parish Registrar of Voters office is 568 NW Court Circle, Crowley.

“Tim” Longman, Republican, 1201 Yukon St., Eunice.
Roland Miller, Republican, 1220 Faris Ave., Eunice.
William “Mr. Bill” Thompson, Democrat, 411 Harold St., Eunice.
Candidates in the Eunice’s Ward 4 Alderman election are:
James “Donnie” Fontenot, No Party, 421 S. Fifth St., Eunice.
“Dale” Soileau, Democrat, 441 S. Sixth St., Eunice.
Shantell Arredondo Ward, Republican, 1451 Scott St. Eunice.
Other items on the St. Landry Parish ballot, but not parishwide, include Democratic and Republican party positions.
Other items on the Acadia Parish ballot, but not parishwide, include three school district tax propositions, a special election for mayor in Morse, special election for chief of police in Crowley and member Republican Central Committee 26th Senatorial District, Division A.
