Eunice Chamber launches online community calendar
Looking for something to do in Eunice this weekend?
Search no further than the Eunice Chamber of Commerce’s new community calendar.
Kelly Pitre, chamber president, said, “I hope to increase membership of the chamber and give residents and visitors a place to search for events on one convenient website. I had my goals for my year as chamber president, and this was one.”
The submission-based calendar is open to chamber members, non profits, schools and local governments and features events like football games, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute events at LSUE, farmer’s markets, and events at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, the Liberty Theater and Lakeview Park and Beach. The calendar may be view at www.eunicechamber.com, and events can be submitted via the website .
“There’s sports, music, art, government meetings, farmer’s markets and sales events for business members,” Pitre said. “Events are organized by hashtags, and they are geotagged with Google Maps so events can be found easily. The events can also be shared through Facebook and Outlook or Google Calendars.”
“It’s slow starting, like anything, but it will pick up when word gets out.”
