The Community Chest Fund objective for this winter is $1,500.
The American Legion asked all Eunice businesses to close on Nov. 11 for the veterans observances. About 75 percent did so.
Three men pretending to be revenuers talked their way into a home, then tortured the resident by pulling out his finger nails until he revealed where he had hidden his money, $830.
Nine buildings, including the hotel and two stores, were destroyed in a Port Barre fire.
Phillip Uzo has opened the Eunice Seafood Co. in the Miller building at the corner of 2nd and Laurel. Branches in Basile, Ville Platte and Mamou are planned.
Eunice High is the first school in Louisiana to organize a Future Farmers of America chapter. Prof. G.C. Meaux said there are 20 members.
