Eunice News wins top press awards

The Eunice News won 10 awards including six first-place awards in the Louisiana Press Association’s annual newspaper competition.
The awards were announced during Saturday’s awards luncheon in Lake Charles.
Judges from Alabama critiqued 2,777 entries from 58 Louisiana newspapers, publications and student publications.
The Eunice News competed in Division 4, which is newspapers with circulations averaging 1,501 to 3,000.
The Eunice News first-place awards are:
Best Breaking News Story;
Best News Coverage;
Best Headline;
Community Service;
General Excellence; and
Best Services Advertisement, non-retail.
The Eunice News’ other awards are: Best Sports Story; Best News Photo; Best Photo Package; and Best Ad Campaign. Placements for those awards were not available.
The first-place award-winners were provided to contestants ahead of Saturday’s luncheon.
