Festival fundraising concert planned Friday
Connie Garrett and Louisiana Red will play at the Liberty Center at 7 p.m. Friday to help raise funds for the Experience Louisiana Festival.
The concert is sponsored by Eunice Rotary Club, LSUE Performing Arts Series and the City of Eunice.

For the past three decades, Connie G., a Lafayette-based R&B and soul singer and award-winning Tina Turner impersonator has played far and wide along with local bands and now with her own band- Creole Soul.Not only has she opened numerous shows for national acts, such as “Robin Thicke” and “The Gap Band,” but also she has been given impromptu opportunities by the likes of “The Isley Brothers” and
“Jeffery Osborne,” and wowed the crowd. Connie has hits of her own like “My Man” and “Looking For a Rodeo” that keep the dance floors packed, and she also sings renditions of Etta James’s “I’d Rather Go Blind” and Koko Taylor’s “Voodoo Woman.”
Louisiana Red, a seven piece powerhouse with more than 25 years of success will open for Connie G. Louisiana Red performs the latest dance hits and also pays tribute to the classic soulful dance songs of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. This mixture of timeless, elegant, and high energy dance music has created thousands of memorable wedding receptions, Mardi Gras balls, parties, anniversaries, and corporate events over the span of more than two decades throughout Acadiana.
