Oil industry activity is shifting to the Eunice-Basile section with the Humble Co. already locating an exploration crew there.

J.C. Keller was re-elected manager of the Tri-Parish Fair.

Former First Baptist Church pastor Rev. N.S. Jackson sends greetings from Jackson, Miss., where he is superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League.

One of America’s pre-eminent dance bands -- Wit Thomas and his 10-piece Princetonians - played at the new $25,000 American Legion Home.

An all-talking motion picture will be one of the special attractions to those attending the Farmers’ Market meeting this month. The free meeting will be at Central Hardware.

Mayor J.B Lewis and Police Chief Allen Hundley said dogs which are not vaccinated against rabies and tagged will be shot.

A glee club to teach vocal music to Eunice youth has been organized at Eunice High. Prof. Floyd Kirk will teach.

J.D. Veillon has opened a grocery-dry goods store opposite the Eunice High athletic field on Oak Avenue. He purchased the property from Milton Vidrine.

A new troop of Boy Scouts has been installed here. Tenderfoots of the new patrol are Claud Moody, Warren Mornhinveg, Alvin Keller, Charles Dupre, Jake Moody, Jack Keller, Tom McManus, Roy David, Lawrence Miller and Albert Picou, Jr. Scoutmaster is Prof. Charles Randel.

Bob Dalton passed through town. He is the last of the Dalton Boys Gang of outlaws of yesteryears and is now Col. Robert E. Dalton, deputy sheriff of three Mississippi counties.
