Governor makes appointments to the LSU Board of Supervisors

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced on May 26 that he will appoint Stephen Perry, of New Orleans; James M. Williams, of New Orleans; and Glenn Armentor, of Lafayette; to the Board of Supervisors for Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. Their terms on the board will expire on June 1, 2022.

“Higher education in Louisiana has faced the largest disinvestment in the country over the last eight years,” said Gov. Edwards. “These proven leaders will partner with me to make sure the state’s flagship university is equipped to educate the future leaders of our state, and I look forward to working with them.”

BIOGRAPHIES

J. Stephen Perry, of New Orleans, will be reappointed to the Board of Supervisors for Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. Mr. Perry is the President and CEO of the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau. Mr. Perry received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Louisiana State University and a Masters of Arts in anthropology from Louisiana State University. Mr. Perry will serve as an at-large representative on the Board.

James M. Williams, of New Orleans, will be appointed to the Board of Supervisors for Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. Mr. Williams is a partner of Chehardy Sherman Williams, LLP. Mr. Williams received a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee University. Mr. Williams will serve as a representative of the 2nd Congressional District.

Glenn Armentor, of Lafayette, will be appointed to the Board of Supervisors for Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. Mr. Armentor is founder and general partner of The Glenn Armentor Law Corporation. Mr. Armentor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. Mr. Armentor will serve as a representative of the 3rd Congressional District.
