Guilty plea closes 'sexting' case
The obscenity case against former Eunice High teacher Jacqueline Fruge is closed.
She pleaded guilty in district court last week in a case which began when she texted inapprropriate images of herself to a student.
The case began in Eunice City Court, but was transferred when lawyers agreed that district court was the proper venue.
Fruge was represented by Laura Rougeau. Jay Caswell was the prosecutor.
Interim Judge Marion Edwards gave Fruge three years of probation, the first supervised, the other two unsupervised
A condition is that she is required to notify prospective employers or educational educational environment where minors are involved of the offense.
The obscenity statue forbids transmission knowing its content to be sexually explicit as defined in this Paragraph, of an unsolicited text message containing sexually explicit materials to a wireless telecommunications device of one or more persons within the state.
