Jack gives way, kills man under vehicle

A Church Point man died Thursday afternoon when a jack gave way, pinning him under a vehicle.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon his office received a call around 3:30 p.m. from a resident that reported the accident in the 1400 block of Ed Thibodeaux Road near Church Point.
Upon arrival deputies learned that Paul Bourgeois, 54, had purchased a set of rims from the homeowner and was in the process of removing them from the vehicle when the accident occurred.
Bourgeois was in the process of removing the front tires on the vehicle when a jack gave way pinning him underneath the vehicle.
