Jason Bertrand to seek Ward 1 City Council seat
Jason Bertrand said he will be a candidate for Ward 1 alderman in the Nov. 4 Eunice City Council primary election.
Bertrand, 42, is a life-long resident of Eunice and has lived in Ward 1 since 2003.
He is a 1990 graduate of Eunice High and a 1992 graduate of University Medical Center School of Radiologic Technologists.
Bertrand was employed for 15 years in the medical imaging field before joining the family business, Bertrand’s Printing, seven years ago.
This is his first bid for public office, prompted, he said, by a desire to serve and help people and the community.
Bertrand is a life-long parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and is an eucharistic minister at the church.
He and his wife, Kelly Peart Bertrand, have three children -- Ashley Grace, 12; Nicholas, 10; and Ross, 7 -- all of whom attend St. Edmund’s Catholic School, where the candidate serves on the Advisory Council.
Incumbent Roland Miller is not seeking re-election to the Ward 1 seat.
