Main to Main this Saturday: Garage sale starts at 7 a.m.
This year’s Main to Main event will feature a car show, live entertainment, a garage sale, a boudin eating contest and many arts and crafts vendors.
Candace Reeves with the City of Eunice said, “This is the first year we are having the event in one day. It used to be over two weekends, but hopefully having it all on one day will draw a bigger crowd.”
The event, part of a program hosted by the Louisiana Department of Culture Recreation and Tourism’s Division of Historic Preservation, is just one of several celebrations of food, music, art, shopping and more in 34 Main Street Communities around the state. Opelousas and Crowley are also Main Street Communities. During the month of November, residents and visitors are encouraged to visit the state’s Main Street Communities to experience the culture of Louisiana.
Main to Main has been hosted in Eunice for at least the last 10 years, Reeves said. This year’s event will feature 20 arts and craft vendors, 12 garage sale vendors, and items like doll clothes, wood works, microwave bags, copper crafts, homemade bath and body products and homemade jewelry will be for sale. All businesses open on 2nd Street will have holiday food drive donation boxes.
“We usually have about 200 people come out, but hopefully we will have more,” Reeves said.
The event is sponsored by Sirius Technologies, Aucoin and Associates Engineers and Surveyors, Cleco, Progressive Waste Solutions, Guillory Oil Vige, Tujague, Noel and Johnny Lyons.
