Races develop for district judgeship, School Board 13 post
Two candidates qualified Thursday for St. Landry Parish School Board races in Eunice-area districts and a second person entered the Section 4 Division B district judge contest.
Mary Ellen Donatto, a retired principal, qualified to run in School Board Dist. 13. She is a Democrat. The seat is held by Harry Fruge', a Democrat, who qualified on Wednesday.
Donna Baltakis, a Democrat, qualified to run for School Board Dist. 12. The seat is held By Josie Frank, a Democrat who qualfied Thursday to run for Eunice City Judge.
In the district judge contest, Scherri Guidry, a Democrat who lives on La. 104, Opelouas, qualified to seek the open seat.
Gerard Caswell, a Democrat from Eunice, qualified for that race on Wednesday.
Also qualifying Thursday was Germaine Simpson, Democrat incumbent, Eunice City Council Ward 2.
