Search continues for escaped inmate

Eunice police continue the search for an inmate who walked away from the city jail Friday afternoon.
Jody Vallier, 25, fled after being allowed in the jail courtyard with other inmates for regularly scheduled outside time.
When the inmates were rounded up for return to their cells, Vallier went the other way, according to police.
He had been arrested Thursday night on charges of obscenity, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and resisting.
Shortly after Vallier went missing at 3:30 p.m. a caller reported someone broke down his back door on North Street. Respoding officers found an orange inmate jump suit at the door.
Vallier, who is black, is listed by police as living at 520 Lewis.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the police department.
