Stevens to seek Dist. 12 School Board seat

Will Stevens, better known as La-Will, has announced his candidacy for St. Landry Parish School Board, District 12, in the Nov. 4 primary election.
District 12 includes parts of Eunice. The seat is currently held by Josie Frank, who is not running for re-election.
Stevens is an evangelist, Christian rap musician and praise and worship leader at Word Ministries.
He is a native of Eunice and a graduate of Eunice High School.
He and his wife Monica are the parents of six children.
Stevens, whose career began in mainstream rap before a life change, has been a motivational speaker at schools in Eunice, elsewhere in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Florida.
He is a certified substitute teacher and has been a full-time 6th Grade physical science teacher.
Qualifying for the Nov. 4 primary opens on Aug. 20 and closes on Aug. 22.
The runoff election date is Dec. 6.
