The Eunice High Class of 1966 will meet for lunch at Ruby’s at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
A lineup of chefs has been scheduled on Saturdays at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve’s Prairie Acadian Cultural Center for free foodways cooking demonstrations.
My nurseryman tells me this will be a bad summer for barefooted kids. A hardier than usual crop of Soliva sessilis sneaking into lawns across south Louisiana is the cause of the trouble.

Eunice High School history teacher Deborah E. Tatman was awarded the James Madison Fellowship. Only one fellowship was awarded by the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation of Washington, D.C., in each state.
The replacement of the bridge on Maple Avenue at the Bobcat Drive intersection may start by summer, Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot told Eunice Kiwanis Club members Thursday.
