The event had been scheduled Saturday, but rain is forecast for the day.

The death Tuesday morning of former mayor Claud “Rusty” Moody Jr. was announced during a special Board of Aldermen meeting at City Hall.
He was 71.
The St. Landry Pairsh Council Public Works and Aministrative Finance committees are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Old City Market, 131 W. Bellevue St., Opelousas.
The Public Works committee is to meet first.

The Louisiana Workforce Commission’s jobs portal, HiRE (Helping Individuals Reach Employment), will be taken offline at 5 p.m. Wednesday for a major upgrade. The system will remain down until Nov. 9 at the latest, a news release stated.
Layoffs in the oil and gas industry have increased the number of patients at the Eunice Community Health Center, and the center will hold a fundraiser Nov. 12 at Ruby’s Courtyard.
