The son of Evangeline Parish resident Martin Fontenot, who lives in the Reddell area with his wife Thelma, has been nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as the U.S. Treasury Department’s next chief financial officer.
City Lake will re-open on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
According to the agenda for Tuesday night's City Council meeting, Mayor Rusty Moody, Jr. will officially announced the opening.
A special Friday night show on Sept. 5 at the Liberty Theater will honor High Point native Jimmy C. Newman, who died earlier this year at age 86.
