LAFAYETTE – Chad Theriot, president of Computers for Business Management (CBM), has been named to the board of directors of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.

LAFAYETTE – Chad Theriot, president of Computers for Business Management (CBM), has been named to the board of directors of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.

Appointed by Board Chairman Robbie Bush, Theriot will serve a one-year term and bring to the board his extensive knowledge and experience in the technology industry.

“I am honored to have been chosen and excited to work with local leaders of industry to develop exciting opportunities for businesses in Acadiana,” stated Theriot.

Theriot has pioneered a variety of hardware, software and Internet solutions for an array of local and national clients. With more than 26 years in the computer technology industry both locally and in Silicon Valley, Theriot is the co-creator of the first program that utilized speech recognition in the court reporting and legal industry and is a sought-after international speaker.

CBM (CBMtech.com) was founded 35 years ago, offering computer systems equipment and service and expanded into custom software applications for national accounts such as Kellogg’s and a variety of regional customers in banking, real estate, law enforcement and agriculture. AudioScribe (Audioscribe.com), its sister company, develops customized speech recognition systems for a variety of applications.

Both businesses are located in Breaux Bridge.
