Turner Industries donates equipment to ECTEC

A recent donation from the Eunice Career & Technical Education Center’s (ECTEC) “Partners-In-Industry,” Turner Industries of Baton Rouge, of welding equipment was much appreciated.
“We are always delighted to have the support of businesses in the area,” said Kristine Joubert, ECTEC principal, “this means a great deal to our students as they see how businesses and the community play a part in educating today’s youth.”
Representatives from Turner Industries in Baton Rouge made the visit to school to donate wire brushes, chipping hammers, face shields, and shield replacements.  Ranked the largest overall contractor in Louisiana,
Turner Industries is the number one industrial maintenance contractor in the country.  Students often graduate and continue their training through programs provided by the company.
The ECTEC welding program provides specialized classroom instruction and practical shop experience in welding.  It prepares individuals in various processes and techniques of welding and emphasizes safe and efficient work practices, basic occupational skills and employability skills.  Upon successful completion of the course, students are able to receive credit for NCCER modules and qualified students have to opportunity to dual enroll with the Louisiana Technical College System.
The Eunice Career and Technical Education Center (ECTEC) offers programs and/or certification in several trade skills, including; Carpentry, Auto Mechanics, CNA, Medical Terminology, First Responder, Welding, Oil & Gas Production, and Culinary Arts.
