Bobcats place 11 on 4-4A All-District

Eunice High finished in second place tie in District 4-4A and the Bobcats had 11 players earn spots on the All-District team.
Senior running back Darious Richard earned First Team Offense honors as he led the Bobcats with 1,039 yards on 206 carries and 11 touchdowns on the season.
Senior linebacker Brennan Ashley earned first team defensive honors as he led the Bobcats with 151 total tackles including 50 solo aand 101 assists. He forced four fumbles, had a fumble recovery, an interception, a quarterback sack, eight tackles for loss and a pass break-up.
Senior defensive lineman Malenski Thomas also earned first team honors as he finished the season with 56 total tackes including 18 solo and 38 assists. He also three tackles for loss and a quarterback sack.
Senior defensive back Jerwaski Thomas earned first team honors as he finished the season with 33 total tackles, including 17 solo and led the team with five interceptions.
He also had 10 pass break-ups.
Junior offensive lineman Cole Prudhomme was named to the Second Team offense.
Senior defensive backs Andrew Lomas and Jake Sonnier were named to Second Team Defense.
Lomas finished the season with 17 solo tackles and 45 assists with two interceptions, a forced fumble and 10 pass break-ups.
Sonnier had 23 solo tackles and 22 assists with a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, two tackles for loss and three pass break-ups.
A.P. Sonnier, Travis Godfrey, Skylar Ned and Ajyh Johnson were named to the Honorable Mention list.
The Bobcats finished 4-2 in district with wins over Opelousas (42-20), Washinton-Marion (9-7), Rayne (23-22) and Beau Chene (27-3).
Eunice lost to district champion LaGrange (19-7) and Crowley (28-20).
LaGrange finished 6-6 on the season and 5-1 in district, falling only to Rayne (14-10).
The District Offensive MVP was Trent Duhon, of Rayne High School.
The Defensive MVP was LaGrange’s Charles Wilridge.
The 2013 District Coach of the Year was LaGrange head coach Jules Sullen.
