Highland students learn, "I Have A Dream"

Black History Celebration at Highland Elementary

Highland Elementary students celebrated Black History Month by uniting together as one body. The students took a Black History Walk around campus and then welcomed a special guest speaker, Ernest Jones of Eunice. Jones read some excerpts from Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech “I Have A Dream”. Shelsy Williams, third grade teacher, had a handful of students hold construction paper signs of Friendship, Love, Strength, Equality, Faith, Hope high above for all students and teachers to view, and a bouquet of balloons were released at the conclusion of Jones’ presentation.
