Lady Cats cruise in sweep

The Eunice Bobcats grabbed a District 4-4A 20-4, 20-1 sweep over Opelousas High on Thursday.
The Lady Cats (6-1, 4-3) face Washington Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
OHS (5-10, 1-5) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Asia Ball walked and Asia Lavergne reached on an error.
Ball scored on an error, while Lavergne crossed the plate on a single by Morgan Callouria.
The Lady Cats responded with 11 runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good.
Kaliee Lyons was hit by a pitch to open the frame, while Sadie West followed with a single and Mia Lejeune was also hit by a pitch.
Logan Ledoux walked with the bases loaded to score Lyons, while Lejeune and Ledoux scored on wild pitches.
Kate McLemore kept the inning going with a walk, Allison Bellard doubled and Darian Fontenot was hit by a pitch.
McLemore scored on a hit by Ryan Citizen, while Bellard scored when Heidi Pitre was hit by a pitch.
Lyons followed with a triple to drive in Fontenot and Pitre for a 7-0 lead.
Sadie West walked and scored on a passed ball while LeJeune was hit by pitch and Ledoux walked as the inning continued.
McLemore rapped a double to drive in Lejeune and Ledoux for an 11-0 advantage.
The Lady Cats added four more runs in the bottom of the second to push ahead 15-0.
Citizen walked and scored on a passed ball, while Lyons singled and scored on a wild pitch.
West walked and scored on a passed ball, while Lejeune walked and scored on a double by Ledoux.
OHS scored two runs in the top of the third inning begun when Ismonia Bernard was hit by a pitch and scored on a triple by Shelby Richard.
Richard then scored on a hit by Hall.
The Lady Cats added five runs in the bottom of the frame to complete the mercy-rule win.
Lyons, West and Lejeune all walked to load the bases, while Lyons scored when Ledoux also reached on a walk.
West scored on a passed ball, while Lejeune scored when Bellard was hit by a pitch.
Ledoux and McLemore both scored on a hit to left field by Citizen.
The Lady Cats continued their offensive explosion in the second game.
Eunice sent 20 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first and scored 15 runs.
Lyons and West walked and LeJeune cleared the bases with an inside-the-park home run.
Ledoux, McLemore while Bellard followed with a double.
Fontenot and Citizen walked, while Pitre kept the inning alive with a single.
Lyons, West and Lejeune all walked, as Ledoux rapped a single, Bellard tripled and Fontenot doubled.
The Lady Cats added three more runs in the bottom of the second as Lejeune singled, McLemore doubled and Kelci Huval was hit by a pitch.
OHS avoided the shutout as the Lady Tigers scored a run in the top of the third inning.
