Virtual Welding techniques at ECTEC

The world of welding just got brighter for students at ECTEC. Recently students received a visit from representatives of the Tulsa Welding School and Lincoln Welding who brought a virtual welding display for students to practice their technique. Above is Eunice High student Kaleel Daville trying out virtual welding machine while welding class looks on. Danny Soileau is the welding instructor. Students did learn that virtual welding is in some ways not the same as the old fashion way. When practicing on the virtual welding machine, students were graded on the quality of the bead that they laid.
