Blue Jays honor athletes at annual banquet
More than 100 athletes were honored as St. Edmund held its annual sports awards banquet at the Northwest Community Center.
Former LSU All American and NFL All-Pro Dr. Tommy Casanova talked to a packed room and told several humorous stories about his career about how athletics helped mold his life.
“When you put your team as a priority, that is something that will carry you for the rest of your life,” Casanova said. “
You will put your business ahead of your own benefit. You will put the needy people in your community ahead of your own needs.
“It is the living part of Christianity and high school sports helped teach me life lessons.”
