Duster pilot dies in Gueydan crash

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, at approximately 8:24 am Tuesday deputies responded to a 911 call of a crop duster crashing in a field off of Ellis Bridge Rd. south of Gueydan.
Sheriff Couvillon says that they have confirmed that the pilot is deceased, however at this time the name of the victim is not being released pending notification of next of kin. Sheriff Couvillon says that deputies have secured the scene and has contacted the (FAA) Federal Aviation Administration and the (NTSB) National Transportation and Safety Board, who are responsible for handling these types of investigations.
Finally, Sheriff Couvillon says that additional information will be provided as more information becomes available.
