Motorcyclist dies in Rapides collision

Wednesday evening, a crash involving two vehicles killed a motorcyclist from Deville. High speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, with regards to the motorcyclist
Troopers responded to the crash around 6:00 p.m. on LA Hwy 28 east of LA Hwy 116.
The crash involved a 2002 Honda motorcycle, driven by Chris A. Adams, 55, and a 2013 Toyota van, driven by Amy E. Lewis, 38, of Pineville, LA. The motorcycle was westbound on LA Hwy 28, traveling at a high rate of speed, when Adams apparently failed to observe the Toyota stopped.
Lewis was stopped in the westbound lane, waiting for eastbound traffic to clear before turning left. Adams then collided with the rear of Lewis’ vehicle.
Adams was wearing a helmet. He was transported to Rapides Regional Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.
Lewis was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
