Missionary, explorer
WEST MONROE – Services for missionary and explorer Marvin Steffins will be June 14. He died June 11 at age 85.
He worked in Ecuador with the then-pioneer missionary radio station HCJB and was also a missionary to Costa Rica. He was in international marketing with Fleetwood Furniture for 25 years and was president of International Expeditions, some of which include searches for Noah’s ark (once accompanied by astronaut Jim Irwin), the Titanic and Pancho Villa’s treasure.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie and several children.

Attorney
NEW ORLEANS – Services for attorney Herbert Christenberry, Jr. will be June 16. He died June 11 at age 84.
He was attorney for the Orleans Parish Levee Board and the New Orleans Aviation Board. He served as vice chairman of the Battle of New Orleans Sesquicentennial Commission.
Survivors include his wife Ann and four children.
