Career Projects at Central Middle School
During iLEAP testing students in Heather Verret’s sixth-grade class at Central Middle School had a chance to research their future as they created Career Projects. Each students researched their dream career to find certain attributes. They had to focus on what type of math their career used. Would they only need to know basic math skills? Would they need to know algebra? Geometry? Students also had to find out how reading affected their career. What would they have to be able to read? Blue prints? X-rays? A patient’s medical history? The students were able to research how much they would make, how long they were required to attend school/college. To conclude their lesson, students took a field trip to the Eunice Career and Technical Education Center to jump start their road to a career. From left are Lainey Lomas, Kayley Vige, Jacqueline Nicholas, Verret, and Deacon Richard.
